Joe Florian is a retired computer professional, having taken voluntary retirement from Hewlett-Packard in October 2012. He and friend Rod Hutton, also retired from a career as a professor of theology, have started Buckeye Country Roads Bicycle Tours (http://www.BuckeyeCountryRoads.com), a Columbus, Ohio-based commercial bicycle tour company aimed at providing luxury small-group vacation experiences touring the most scenic and interesting areas of Ohio. To date, Buckeye Country Roads’ clientele has consisted largely of retired or nearly-retired individuals and couples who love to ride bikes and also love to experience all that is around them. In other words, they are people who want to ride and “smell the roses”. For both Joe and Rod, this is a new adventure and realization of a dream to turn their hobby and passion into a way to reach out and convey that same passion to many others.
